The last few weeks events and the tournament schedules announced by the PGTI and WGAI till December has truly come as welcome relief for our players and one now fervently hopes and prays that the worst of the pandemic is behind us.
We have now eight girls competing on the Ladies European Tour, Shubhankar and Rahil doing us proud in Europe & Japan and Aditi back on the LPGA so do follow their exploits.
We will all need time to recover from the havoc that was wrought by the second wave of Corona, but we can slowly see the change and now there is so much positivity and a fresh spring in one’s step so it’s nice to be penning this message in a good frame of mind.
Good rainfall in most parts of the country has meant our courses are looking green and many have had a wonderful chance to water harvest for the lean months ahead.
As the GIA continuously has stressed to clubs that good potable water must not be used to irrigate our courses and we need to find good practises to treat effluent water instead as a source and make this a priority.
We have been delighted to welcome more corporate and individual members into our association and may I urge all of you to use this platform to share your company offerings as well as reach out to us for any assistance in the course design, refurbishment of course space ,irrigation, grass, fertiliser, course machinery, golf carts or even with events.
To all of you especially in the Eastern region have a wonderful festive season this month and the year has truly flown with Diwali coming up in early November.
Till next month please stay safe, play lots of golf and make the best of the good weather that has already started showing signs of kicking in….
