Hyderabad gets a new golf course at Haldi Golf County

Last month, on March 26, the Haldi Golf County opened nine holes of its 18-Hole Golf Course for play with a huge turnout of local golfers and those who have purchased the residential plots at this resort-cum-residential property.

Haldi Golf County is situated about 50 km North from central Hyderabad, just off the National Highway 7. This project is being developed by Kancharla & Giridhari Homes Pvt. Ltd. who are (Dream Valley Group) proud corporate members of GIA. The developers on the job have also completed the 18-Hole residential Golf Course, Vooty Golf County, on the other side of Hyderabad already.

The 255 acres site sits alongside and overlooks the Haridra Nadi (Haridra River), giving the resort a wonderful ambience. Phase one of the site development includes nine holes of golf part of the proposed Hotel/Club & Resort (under construction at site), the Golf Academy and a partial release of residential villa plots.

The Golf Course has been planned as a Par 72, 6720 yard layout which winds its way through the residential and resort areas and has three holes running along the beautiful riverside. The second nine holes is under construction and expected to be completed before the end of the year.

A unique feature of the PCD designed golf course is the bunkers which are timber faced, a first for India and based on the old timber faced bunkers found in the UK. These are sure to be a talking point among India’s golfers.

The team has been able to incorporate most of the existing large trees into the design, giving the resort an established look at an early stage.
